Product Description:

Many people are overwhelmed with the challenges they face when trying to choose both which cosmetic treatment is best for them and who to perform that procedure. They are searching for tips they can use to research both aspects. The Naked Tooth is a simple, yet descriptive book, with excellent photography, which explores the options available to improve your smile and more importantly, exposes the dental profession for its lack of a cosmetic dental specialty. As our new patients constantly remind me, they wish they would have known that the term cosmetic dentist means nothing. They are shocked to hear that a dentist needs no training or experience in smile makeover procedures before claiming they do cosmetic dentistry. This is so misleading to the consumer and results in people unhappy with their new smiles. My goal is to decrease the number of times I hear, I wish I would've known!

What others say

"I had some cosmetic work done on my teeth that looked bulky and fake. Then I met Drs. Colleen and Jason Olitsky and my confidence soared. I encourage anyone considering cosmetic dentistry to invest in this book to avoid wasting money.
— Whitney Thompson, winner of America's Next Top Model

"I would recommend this book for any patient even thinking about improving their smile."
— Dr. Bill Blatchford, dental consultant and author of Blatchford Blueprints

The book is rather light and reads like advertising.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome Resource for anyone considering cosmetic dentistry..., April 18, 2011
By NennyAZ
A big thank you to Dr. Colleen and Jason Olitsky for publishing such a great resource for patients, regardless of where you are located. It's a consumer guide and one that that is very well written. The illustrations are beautiful and the advice priceless if you are looking to have any improvement in your smile. My only wish is that it would have included dentists in my area that had the training and expertise necessary to truly create a beautiful smile that lasts.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  To the point!, April 14, 2011

This a great resource for me and my patients. It has already helped us by adding to discussions and exploring all the possibilities. Changing your life by changing your smile and oral health is a big decision and I see The Naked Tooth bringing confidence in a consumers choice to move forward or even do nothing at all. Either way patients win with this book. I really appreciate the casual writing style. I felt like I was having a conversation with the girl next door. Hats off to the authors!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A must read., February 20, 2011

I've been wanting to get veneers for a long time, but it's such a big investment. I know nothing about dentistry and this book helped me understand the difference between procedures and more about veneers. This book was great and well worth the cost.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  If I only read this 5 years ago!, February 07, 2011
By H.S. (Kinnelon, NJ)
I just finished reading this, wow! I wish I would have been able to read this book five years ago when I went through my first set of veneers or even just last year when suffering through my fourth set. I used the info about how to research a dentist to finally find one who is truly qualified to fix all the damage that has been done. I highly recommend this book for anyone even considering a cosmetic treatment. I have gone to two consultations with the knowledge applied from this book, and I found one "cosmetic dentist" to be less than knowledgeable, and the other was taken aback by how educated I actually was and the research I have done. I actually chose not to use either dentist after reading this, and I am seriously considering booking a flight to Jacksonville from NYC to visit Dr. Olitsky.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A Must-read!!, February 02, 2011
By K-Anne
After being self conscious about my smile for a number of years I finally decided to see someone about it. My dentist claims he is a cosmetic dentist and I almost let him fix my smile when I heard about this book. After reading it I canceled my appointment with my dentist and found someone else who was able to better meet my goals and budget. I am thrilled with my new smile and so grateful I read this book first before having my teeth ground down and getting bulky crowns.
