5.0 out of 5 stars.  "The Joy of Flossing", March 23, 2015
By Stacy Bridges
"The Joy of Flossing"! - how can there be joy in flossing?? Well, when you have the reason for flossing and the correct way to floss there can be joy in it. Dr. Young saves some poor dental hygienist from having to explain flossing. I was a 43 year-old adult before a dentist even took the time to talk to me about flossing. Dr. Young also reminds us that having the choice to floss is a blessing. It means that you still have your teeth!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Young's book is a delight! Honest and informative, February 12, 2015
By EDWARD M. WUENSCH
Dr. Young's book is a delight! Honest and informative, it communicates the importance of this effective health practice without being pedantic or paternalistic. He has written and blogged on many different topics in dentistry and life. He's a good writer with a good heart!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Help Flossing Go Viral!, January 30, 2015
By Scott A. Saunders
As a dentist and health writer myself, I can tell you that Dr. Ben Young has hit on something that could just create the much-needed tipping point for oral health—and the total body health that naturally follows from it. By packaging a fresh, simple, easy-to-read, funny how-to in this little book that will take most folks about an hour to read, Dr. Young has given the dental health-care consumer a powerful tool that helps reframe flossing as something DESIRABLE—that pays health dividends while ramping up positive emotions in the process...whatever your current mouth mindset, prepare to be enlightened: this is a feel-good book all around!

I know how important healthy gums and teeth are in order to have a healthy body--controlling inflammation body-wide is really the overriding goal of controlling inflammation in your mouth. And the most effective way to do that is proper flossing.

That said, I have not seen ANY single publication that more positively instructs and motivates the dental consumer on this single most effective oral health practice, which takes 2 minutes a day to perform, once you learn the right way...and Ben's book makes that part easy too! If you can stop chuckling long enough to actually put fingers to floss, you WILL learn how, and have fun in the process...WARNING--after reading Ben's book you could actually WANT to floss every day. And don't worry--if you have dexterity problems and just CAN'T floss, Ben provides some really good alternatives there too.

So, definitely check out The Joy of Flossing on Amazon, Like it on its Facebook page, Tweet it to the skies on Twitter, and of course use good old word of mouth (including telling your dentist and hygienist how good this book is)...this brief, easy-to-digest guide just might pull off what Ben captions as "When Flossing Goes Viral"...with your help, we can ensure that it’s 'when' NOT 'if'!

Scott A. Saunders, DDS

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Never did I ever imagine I'd enjoy a book about flossing, January 16, 2015
By Sarah K. Shrode
Never did I ever imagine I'd enjoy a book about flossing. Dr Young is engaging and witty, and he has convinced me to make flossing part of my daily routine. I have known for years that it's important, but honestly I have become pretty lazy about it. Two minutes a day to better health? That's the easiest New Year's resolution I can think of, and it's one I intend to keep. And believe it or not, there are also some really great nuggets of truth in this book for your life outside of dental care.
