This is not a book for anyone without a thorough background in mechanical engineering. And there are multiple formulas that are incorrect and the "examples" are only partial and incomplete. It will require supplementing with a standard material mechanics book.

Book discusses materials for placement into the Human body and why some work well and others not. Does lay down the foundation for tensile strength and stress fractures etc. Easily understood but the calculus is not well described and each diagram is highlighted in a faint black ink which was a poor choice.

The text covers all of the areas of implantable materials for biomedical applications. A focus on fundamental engineering principles guides the text. Students will find the treatment of contemporary issues to be refreshing.
