Gourmet, easy and tasty,,, look out Betty Crocker, June 17, 2013

I love my copy of this book with recipes that stand alone or can be jazzed up! Pam Waterman takes good everyday food, makes it easy on the challenged mouths (as I well remember years ago) and zips it up so the entire family can eat and enjoy. There is no one currently in my family in braces, but I continue to use the cookbook. I just made the Roasted Bell Pepper and Garlic Dip this weekend, it has fabulous flavor and stays well in the refrigerator for a few days. The Sweet Onion Pie is a great way to get vegetables into my family and I am going to make the Garden Bounty Casserole with some yellow squash that's fresh in the outdoor market now. Thanks for a great cookbook!!!

What an excellent cookbook! The recipes are certain to please not only the person with the braces, but everyone in the family! This book has something for everyone! From kid friendly Parmesan Chicken Tenders to Cherry-Chicken Salad bites yummy enough to serve to any guest. The breakfast, appetizer, dinner, vegetarian and dessert options are all beautifully displayed with a full color photo!
As a marketing consultant who works with orthodontists, I highly recommend this book to any patient with braces!

I wish I had had this when I had my braces, October 08, 2009

Yum! I just baked the sour cream coffee cake in this cookbook; I wish I had had this cookbook when I had my braces on -- over an year ago. I was an adult -- in my early 40s -- on my second round of braces. The first time was as a teenager; frankly, I don't remember what I ate back then, but I don't recall that it was as uncomfortable as this second time around. The key factor for food is that it had to be SOFT.
The thing with soft is that it gets pretty boring. At least that was the case for me, even though I had no qualms about mushing things up. When I got this book, I was kind of expecting boring mushy looking foods. To my very pleasant surprise, this is not the case at all. The recipes look great -- very tasty looking, but also simple and uncomplicated -- and the photos are beautiful. And as they explain, it's for adults. It's bad enough looking like a teenage metalmouth without being able to eat grown-up food.
The authors have done braces-wearers a great service by focusing on softness -- which is paramount -- but not skimping on flavor or the quality of the cookbook. The coffee cake I just made was easy and yummy. These recipes aren't just for braces-weares, by the way; I plan to check out some of the other recipes, too.
