Freaked out my 9 year old. The description of dental procedures was so scary for her. There is some terrible mean girl stuff in the book. I was horrified to hear her tell me they played pin the bottle in the book. She was crying and couldn't go to sleep - was afraid she would have nightmares. Stayed up 30 minutes past bedtime talking to me about the things that frightened her. Not appropriate for kids 8-12.

This charming story will steal your heart. My 7-year-old and I started reading it together; then she said that she wanted to finish it by herself. We actually were fighting over it the next day. :-) We both loved it.
