Hard to get beavers with straight teeth?, June 07, 2009
By Roger Bagula

Drinking mouth wash to straighten teeth seems a little far fetched even for kid's sci fi? That the orthodontist of this invention got "hooked" on it... It got a three star because of the picture of the beavers in the back room. Back room beavers seems like a name for gangsters or bouncers maybe, not experimental animals. There is some fun and humor here.

Teacher's Grade: B+, September 23, 2005

This was a strong effort from Dan Greenburg, but not the best in the series. Zack visits a new dentist to have some of his teeth worked on, but as often happens to Zack the new dentist is more than he appears to be. Zack starts going through a surprising transformation and he and his father must seek out some answers to get the situation resolved. This book is one of the more suspenseful in the series, and was enjoyed by my 7-year old son and me.
I will probably have some of the kids in my 2nd grade class read this book when National Dental Month rolls around.
