5.0 out of 5 stars.  Well worth the money., December 16, 2014
By mike9999
Very well written book covering a wide range of practice topics. The 1 star rating was undeserved for sure. The topics in some sections are more specific than others but all the ideas are on target and helpful. I would give this book a 4.5 rating and recommend it to every dentist. For me, the book was more than just a basic business book. I found several meaningful new ideas and inspirations...especially for the sections that dealt with staffing. Highly recommend.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  This book is okay but very general and not specific ..., September 23, 2014

This book is okay but very general and not specific. It focuses on general tips for management that would work for any small business owner. This is not what I was looking for.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This book must be on every Dentist's desk!, May 08, 2014

So here is a bit more detail. Michael Hill, is a lab owner, speaker and published regularly. He is a top contributor on a couple of Linkedin groups that I follow as well related to dental practice management and marketing. There are some youtube videos of him talking about his business but not much else. I found the book like everyone else reviewing here...a fast read. His language and tone is...like a friend talking to you. This was a nice touch. The first 4 or 5 chapters focus on getting your head right. This section could have been very cliche but I felt it was inspiring. There is a distinct positive tone throughout the book. He is rooting for the dentist and sharing too many great ideas to count. In the book, he claims that their were contributions but 50 or 60 different dental industry professionals. I BELIEVE IT. I loved how the book did not drone on and on but rather...got right to the point. I also liked the structure; here is the problem- here is why it is a problem- here is the solution others are using. The book is really about striving to thrive.
